At first we were concerned that the facility is a little further away from the university but we have been pleasantly surprised. Access is so easy - with big carts to borrow, you can back right up to the large sliding doors and there is 24/7 keypad entry access. It has been a perfect solution for us.

It’s always cold in the winter and it’s always warm in the summer. Recently in the past couple months, there has been a severe dead fly problem. I have addressed this with management and nothing has been done. Now I have dead flies in my unit and on my personal belongings. They said they will compensate me and I haven’t seen anything. I will be complaining again.

The inside is never cleaned. The outside, especially at the rear of the building, is not kept up at all. It's filthy with piles of trash and pigeon waste. Complaints are rarely addressed. Now they are raising rental rates, which would be acceptable if the place was being cleaned.

I've used the storage mall twice. The first was a good experience. The second, a year later, not so much. No lights, fly's and garbage everywhere. At the end of my last month, I paid my next months rent a week before I needed to, only to get a notice that the rent would be increasing. I was not willing to pay more. The facility is not worth what I was already paying. So I removed my stuff, handed in my key and asked for a refund. Though they said they would be refunding my money, I've never received my refund. I recommend not using The Storage Mall in East Syracuse.
